Just a couple of new pictures of work from the fall anagama firings. The stacked boxes with ewers on top are thrown and altered into sections. the lidded boxes are also thrown on the potter's wheel, trimmed, altered and a thrown slab is added to the top. most of these pots are patterned with painted wax resist on wet clay, and the clay is scrubbed with a sponge around the wax, leaving the patterns raised in relief. More pics to come soon. haven't worked in the studio for a couple of weeks because of family traveling. looking forward to trying some new forms and patterns soon!
